Ashville Residential Home is a dual registered Residential and Nursing home. Ashville is registered with CSSIW to provide EMI (Elderly Mentally Infirm) care to a maximum of 34 Residents. Ashville is located in the peaceful former mining village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in the picturesque South Wales Valleys.

We aim to provide the highest standard to Person Centred Care to our Residents, ensuring our Residents dignity, privacy and choice are respected. We strive to promote Residents independence and individuality.

Ashville is regularly monitored both internally and externally to ensure a quality control system in accordance with requirements set out in the Care Homes (Wales) Regulations 2002.

In all our rooms, necessary furniture is provided. We encourage Residents to decorate their room to their taste, with any creature comforts that they may have, to make their room a homely haven where they can relax.

The home decor is inspired to stimulate our Residents. It includes bright colours, and sensory lights. Themed rooms, including a 'Cafe' that is decorated with bunting, an old Welsh Dresser, and old china crockery, with a small self service cafe, where tea and coffee is available, and also some delicious cakes. We have a 'Cosy Corner' which theme is based on a lovely cosy home, including an artificial log burning fire with surround and guard comfy sofas and chairs cabinets and coffee tables. We also have themed corridors, one decorated with grey brick wallpaper, and has mining memorabilia added to the walls, which makes you stop and look to admire and reflect to the old mining times.

We have regular events and activities as Ashville. Our activities are planned around the interest and abilities of our Residents, to ensure that the activities planned are relevant to all our Residents. Keeping up activities is important for our health and wellbeing, and our Activities Co-Ordinator taylors activities for our Residents to meet their health and wellbeing needs. At Ashville we wholeheartedly encourage and support any Residents that have and special hobbies or interests. We have day trips out and the Activities Co-ordinator arranges for Religious Services with outside groups for our Residents to attend if they wish.

Meals at Ashville are all home cooked daily, using fresh, local produce. We offer a variety of choice for our Residents with the use of daily pictorial menus, which include nutritional information, so Residents are able to make an informed choice, and also it highlights certaining ingredients for Residents with specific dietary needs. Healthy and nutritious food and drinks are essential for good health and wellbeing, and our staff ensure that food and drinks are readily available at the request of the Resident. Our Kitchen has also achieved a 5 star rating in the recent Food Standards Agency Inspection. The highest score achievable!
